We are launching a fundraising campaign to support an exciting new program initiative in South Africa.
This June, Patrick Arnold, the founder of 10 Billion Strong, will take on the Comrades Marathon, a challenging 53-mile ultramarathon from Durban and Pietermaritzburg, South Africa that celebrates the spirit of unity and resilience across South Africa. Known as one of the world’s oldest and largest ultramarathon races, it brings together runners from across the world to celebrate the enduring human spirit.

Our fundraising goal for this event is unique: we aim to raise $100 for each mile Patrick runs, totaling $5,300. These funds will support a crucial initiative by 10 Billion Strong to convene 15 to 20 pioneering energy entrepreneurs in South Africa. These leaders are at the forefront of transitioning from coal to sustainable energy sources, a critical shift as over 70% of South Africa’s energy currently comes from coal.
